Core Competency

[Future Technology Now]

The processing algorithms work in seven stages.

  1. Digitization

  2. Images captured with digital cameras do not require this step. However, this stage is necessary in converting other images already developed in photographic form or captured on film. Digitizing begins with scanning … dividing an image into a specified number of pixels. Each pixel contains vital information with respect to color and density of hue. SACOR3D is capable of processing all levels of image resolution, from planetary to microscopic to 10 microns of less per pixel.

  3. Pre-Processing

  4. At this stage, SACOR3D converts the digitized images to a proprietary format consisting of increased capabilities in determining pixel positioning, color, and contrast qualities. This step also accounts for camera calibration and image segmentation. This fundamental procedure involves image alignment, as well as several enhancement processes. The enhanced result facilitates improved performance in the correlation process. This procedure involves removing distortions and ortho-rectification to produce an image that can be automatically processed without manually editing occlusions.

  5. Image Pre-Correlation

  6. To achieve this step, SACR3D correlates control points or relationships between stereo images, and rectification of the preprocessed digital images.Relative to past procedures in determining camera positions relative to subject, this process is highly automated and provides finely tuned alignment information.

  7. Image Fusion

  8. Once the relationship between images has been established and the images have been rectified, SACOR3D automatically fuses the two images at the pixel level. This process typically involves one pass, delivering depth information at the sub-pixel level. This powerful component of the SACOR3D process fuses overlapping images to achieve the highest accuracy in 3D extraction procedures and control the level of dimensional resolution.

  9. Measurement of Time Component

  10. A series of SACOR3D algorithms tracks the displacment or movement between stereo images. These specific algorithms are the keys which enable the tracking of the fourth dimension (time) component relative to the 3D imaging process.SACOR3D measures primary images against secondary images, generated a second later.

  11. Quality Assurance

  12. The Quality Assurance process is a proprietary procedure that determines the confidence levels of SACOR3D’s extraction processes without the need of collecting real-world measurements. In essence, these algorithms repeatedly sample the raster database and compare it against internal control points.By this process, a parallax value is returned for each pixel resulting in a high confidence rating for the 3D end product.

  13. Product Generation

  14. The final stage of SACOR3D’s empowering technology uses a subset of algorithms to develop a customized solution for any 3D task. Our algorithms are modular and scalable and have the ability to deliver point clouds and images that can be ported to any preferred image manipulation platform.
